CXO will get some TLC when on blocks.... want to extend the exhaust outlet by a couple of inches and replace with stainless steel....

When this is done, then I'll have to start looking out for a 912 :-)

And then this ?http://www.zlinaero.com/prog/note/alleg ... 0Sheet.pdf

or this.... http://www.bullyhawk.com/

It's only for the part after the silencer... is that still a problem German?

Mine used to crack just after the bend where it comes out of the block, many times

Aaaaah, closer to the block there is much higher temps I presume. On the Cheetah, the outlet after silencer is segmented and welded - not bent!

Now we talking my language here, this is what i live for! vhpy

I wouldnt buy the kit for the money they ask, it is a very simple task to turbocharger the engine yourself with a much better engine management system than what is offerred by Bullyhawk.com -- ill demonstrate this with my 914 when i get time to do the job. first thing that comes out is the ECU and all sensors bar one - the static pressure sensor.

Then the ECU i will be installing is the Haltech Platinum 1000 which is what my Skyline, EVO and Golf race cars run -- fully programmable fuel delivery, ignition timing, boost control, etc etc etc what i like about the Haltech on my Skyline is that it has a wideband O2 sensor specifically designed by Bosch for use with exotic fuels, and will automatically make adjustments in open and closed loop mode depending on what fuel is detects in the burn through the exhaust. E.G I run high boost with Ethanol and the sensor picks up that the engine is burning Ethanol, and swithces to the correct tuned maps for the fuel used.

This means setup on the dyno once for the low and high boost (using the different fuels) and leave the rest to the ECU - nice protection feature, if the sensor becomes blocked or reads odd values (leaded fuel used which could have blocked the sensor) then the unit disables itself and reverts back to the low boost map. all this while monitoring Knock sensor, MAP sensor, TPS, engine temp, water temp, CHT, OAT, Intake air temp etc etc etc

John -- all you need to do is purchase the turbo manifold, (second thoughts, for R35K they on drugs!!!) fabricate the SS manifold is easy so is the rest to fabricate and convert to fuel injection -- carb to be honest is rudamentry.

just my two cents worth ...

John,
We installed the Bullyhawk soft start module for the 912 a while ago - it really works!
If that is part of your plan for the 912 upgrade, do it right from the start.

hey AWACS -- http://www.turbodirect.co.za or http://www.garrettbyhoneywell.com or http://www.turbobygarrett.com

also an update for you -- got Tony's wheels and spats with me, today CNC machined the adapters, mounted the discs, and calipers, tomorrow machining the shaft insert and spacer, then small mods to the knuckles and the kit will be finished.

1) we blasted the knuckles from Tony's Cheetah (nice and clean!)
2) dissassembled the drums from the rims
3) machined the adapters from billet, and the spacer and shaft insert
4) lock tite the three cap screws that the brake disc floats on, bolt them into the adapter
5) basic assembly of the parts and spatts as a unit
6) install onto the plane (knuckles onto the support beams/struts
7) Bleed brakes --

Job Done

some pics in the mean time (better than the previous phone ones)

hey AWACS -- line up is empty as of tomorrow morning. I have completed Tony's setup this afternoon, spacing the spatts so even if you have a flat tire, it should not catch the spatt.

I have 3 complete brake setups left. One is John's, and one is yours -- that leaves 1 left for the taking.
