I have some ideas but they can wait until my disgust has cooled down. For now the fridge stays locked. ##

See you guys tomorrow for a sortie. (^^)
Paul, how can that be a step backwards when a so call "civilised, educated, aviator" just forgets to pay? No wonder a prop was "accidently" removed previously by also a "civilised, educated aviator" in a locked hangar!

Good luck in keeping the GEES ... Sometimes educated people do not want options/choice, the lecture/topic events proved it as seen by Bundy asking for upfront payment, why, cause some "rotten" apple makes it unpleasant for the honest people; those that remind themselves of paying for what they have used!

The Honesty Bar is one thing....but giving up on the GEES is not an option. :) Lest you wish to go back to flying from a ghost town again?
Having an ale/cooldrink or two with your mates after a morning's flying without the hassel of bringing your own was the goal. Microland has not been this socially active in years! The fridge is there to promote that idea and build the cammeraderie between us all....on club days and any other time too.

Fey'z....there is a big difference between someone who forgets to pay for a beer/cooldrink from time to time...and someone who lifts R900 in cash from a box.... One is forgetful (but still honest) the other one is some form of rodent. We also do not know if this was a "civilised and educated aviator". Could have been anyone unfortunately, and with no proof we cannot even speculate. :?

The stolen prop and subsequent return remains a deap seated mystery...not unlike your average government tender where everyone knows the money's missing but noone ever goes to jail for it? I still have no idea who it was, just that they are not from FABA...and will not be back. The threat of retaliation is prob why this was handled the way it was....sadly, as there is no shortage of pilots willing to give that prick a good PK! ##

The "Episodes" have not been affected by non payment for those attending...rather by people booking and not pitching up! That is why there is an upfront payment policy there...and will not be changed while I'm the organiser I'm afraid. No moolah, no meal.

Paul I suggest we put this to a simple sms vote? (you have the database)

Option 1: Keep the Honesty bar functioning with a new payment system of your own design. (always will be open to abuse unfortunately but that's the risk)

Option 2: Sell off what's left and abandon the idea completely.

Does it feel like we are going backwards now guys?...

A sad day for our young Club :(

The choice is yours Tailwinds.

100% Allan. ## Faiz, this is not a matter of forgetting to pay, the bliksem stole the balance of the fridge’s money box. It even had the ordacity to sift through the notes and leave the small ones behind so the loss will not be noticed immediately, I guess. ## ##

We do not have any evidence to who the low life culprit is and therefore could not even dare to speculate. ^

In my opinion the only way to minimise the risk is to have no cash in the fridge. This will however only remove the possibility of a cash loss. There is still the possibility of stock loss due to theft or forgetfulness. But theft of a significant number of tins of drink will be obvious during a get together and forgetfulness will be minimal.

A very sad day indeed. What was such fun had to be spoilt by a selfish individual. Such is life. (**)

And now on a much brighter note. How great it was to meet you, Andries, and your lovely family. Thanks for all the help and of course, Monica, for the lovely Chocolate cake. I only got a small piece to taste and when I looked again it was finished. You snooze you looze. What a great flight we had Monday morning. A gaggel of 5 trikes, in the end landing for a coffee (and a defrost) at Zynkraal and then for breakfast at Kittyhawk. Had to replace the Air Magic batteries at Kittyhawk after 70 hrs of use. Tested them at home, as flat as a can be, 1.2V per cell. (^^)

I will be there tomorrow morning. WX looks good. (^^)

Hi everyone

I go on one little holiday and everything goes to hell!!! ## ##

I cannot believe somebody stole money from the honesty bar, that really sucks (**)

I really enjoy the honesty bar and try to support it in the hope that the small profit we make from it goes to improvements once we have enough money.
Maybe if you you put a lock box there that only money can be thrown in and not removed, will it be more secure :?:

Hope to see you all on saturday, I am dying to get back in the air after a two week delay. vhpy

Hallo Almal

I almost froze my klokke off on Monday morning. How does one keep your feet, hands and face warm on these cold mornings? I cant imagine flying to Barberton on 19 July in such cold weather, I will not make it unless I come up with a plan to keep warm.

Hey Guys

Sorry to hear about the Cr@p with the A$$H0LE with long fingers.

When you guys have a brekkie let me know as then the Chain Gang will definitely make an appearance.
We got an honesty bar at Crosswinds and it works well.

There are other methods of working the "Cash" bar. Bundy will phone you some time and give you some Idea's.

Tailie...thanks mate, Paul has come up with some good suggestions too. No Cash system. The honesty bar is his baby so pop him a pm with your thoughts (^^)

I will personally arrange a brekkie fly in for the Chain Gang in August (17th) will chat closer to the time....unfortunately in July I'm on standby for work on the weekends so difficult to plan ahead at this stage.

Gav, we post our invite here and under "Flying events" and the rule is, fly & braai every 3rd Saturday of the month,. You are most welcome to join us anytime. I also send out a reminder SMS to the regulars. PM me your number and I will include you in the reminder list. (^^)

Looks to me like there are crooks on this side of mountain.

Hi Paul.

Gavin, I understand the problem. I would also not go to a fly-in & braai that starts at 11. If the morning is flyable then we start at 10H30 else (most 3rd Saturdays ## ) we start at 8H30, gives the guys a chance to sleep in a bit. Also, for those who aren't flying, to stand around a braai without a beer in your hand, is impossible. If we know you guys are comming we can start when you arive (8H30 ish?). Those who want to braai later can do so, we just put charcoal on again. Stef do you agree? vhpy Chain Gang..,.. are we seeing you on the 20th July? (^^)

Dankie Oom Dawid. (^^)

Paul...I'll whip something up on the skottel for those "southerners" when they get there...quick, easy and let's them get airbourne quickly again before the weather turns kak. We can braai at the normal time as per the std MOP.

Bacon, egg, and mushrooms on a roll for the Chaingang (But in August please guys, I cant commit to July yet).

Happy Taily? vhpy Surely ugly bald men cant be too fussy?? ## ^

Round up the Chaingang and come visit on Aug 17th...brekkie and coffee will be served on arrival. (!!)
