1 I NEVER wrap the exhaust pipes. ( I had to do a VERY tricky engine-out landing on a test flight with a NEW aerie. Not nice to be flying with a smoke filled cocpit. Briekmerke, manne!)
2 Those 2 plastic overflow pipes gets routed as FAR away from the exhaust system as is possible. These pipes and their well beiing is a pre-flight item BEFORE EVERY FLIGHT.
3 If your 912 installation does not have a feed-back restrictor on it`s petrol system, consider it un-airworthy until fixed.
Thanks Goose, for bringing this problem under our attention. We will "keep`em peeled!!"
A Bells for that Goose!!
Fly safe, and remember: NEVER TURN BACK WHEN U HAV EFAT!!
Oom Priester, op n seker ouderdom kry ons nie meer "Brainwaves" nie, dit neig merendeels hier so n "brain fart se kant toe".![]()

BE WARNED: You must be carefull not extend the pipes to be in the low pressure area at the bottom of the cowl.

Re: Rotax and Foxbat Pilots
Hi Guys....i have many hours on these machines and am surprised at the amount of accidents in them and i definately agree with the comments above of returns to tank and a short vent hose that is pushed into fuel bowl clip max 4 inches or so.....the only problem is if fuel leaks out of the vent line then onto a hot exhaust)you need to catch this overflow due to blocked idle jet)....some have these hoses to a airbox which is safer and works quite well .....as far as fire on impact goes, the only thing i can think about is perhaps the wiring of fuel guages to the tank censors as these tanks are actually well made and installed and pretty impact resistent....our ZU DIV has a 1000 hrs and going well.....more comments and thoughts would be appreciated and condolences to the families on this sad loss......RIP....Andy Kaspersen 0826517317
