I sent you a mail DH.

This is posted from a Linux workstation, when I try to post from a Windows 7 laptop I get a PHP "Access denied" message. I do have an idea that it could be IP related, seems my posting problem might only be from iBurst, other ISP's seem to be ok but I need to confirm with a test. I tried 3 different systems but going via the same ISP all getting the error.

Fly safe,
Rudi
PS. I have no problems posting to other forums like Avcom.

Strange!

I just tried to post here using an iPad connected via a wireless router from iBurst and I got the Forbiden message. I then changed the iPad to 3G and the posting works fine!

DH, you have to log in twice with OSX, Android 3,1 on Samsung Tab 10.1 is perfect, I have had this for the entire time I have used the site, thought it was a OSX thing and never reported it...Cant comment on Windows as I havent used it for maybe 5 years..

Okay, I have opened up a ticket with our host for this, I cannot find anything in the logs that makes it any clearer.

Hello,
Is the IP address 196.2.126.174 the ones that are experiencing this forbidden message when they go to the URL that you provided?
I was able to access the URL without issue which means the site is online and functions, but this does not mean that they are not seeing issues.

I tested the IP address above for connection issues and I am seeing some packet loss on packet making it back to the IP address in the ISP location.

Hello,

I have extracted the accesses to the posting.php script which have caused errors this month. The issue does not appear
to be limited to a single ISP. Here is the IP location data from most of the IP addresses which have had errors.

41.xxx South Africa Western Cape Cape Town Telkom Sa Limited
41.xxx South Africa Western Cape Cape Town Telkom Sa Limited
41.xxx South Africa Gauteng Pretoria Telkom Sa Limited
105xxx South Africa Gauteng Pretoria Legal Ip Block For Internet Apn - Pretoria Silverton Northern Gauteng
105.xxx South Africa Gauteng Pretoria Legal Ip Block For Internet Apn - Pretoria Silverton Northern Gauteng
105.xxx South Africa Western Cape Cape Town Legal Ip Block For Umts Users In Cape Town Western Cape
196.xxx South Africa Gauteng Randburg Wireless Business Solutions (proprietary) Limited T.a Iburst
196.xxx South Africa Gauteng Johannesburg University Of South Africa

There are no IP specific deny rules in the .htaccess settings for the site. The IP addresses are not being blocked by the
server's firewall, or there would be no entry for the IP addresses in the access logs for the domain.

A review of the User Agent strings for the requests which have received errors indicates that IE, Opera, Safari and Android
browsers have all received errors.

None of the errors are logged as 403 (Permission denied) errors. Most of the errors are being logged as 404 (Not Found)
errors. There are also some 503 Errors.

I am sorry, the logs do not indicate any clear cause of the problem. If the you have any further access issues, please reply
to this ticket and we can continue our investigation.

Thank you for continuing to work with HostGator support

Strange but it is now working!

This is posted from my iBurst link (fixed iP 41.208.212.128) so whatever the problem was it is solved!

Thanks DH!!
