Storage of Avgas in 200 litre drums

Postby gavinwolff » Tue Oct 30, 2012 11:38 am

Please could someone with the relevant technical expertise assist here.
Getting conflicting information in this regard.

Am told that if we purchase new 200litre drums of Avgas, we can refill unlimited as long as the drum remains physically undamaged.
Conflicting info says that we cannot re use at all, as the inner liner of the drum deteriorates and causes fuel contamination issues.

Would appreciate the true story so we can make an informed decision.

Also, whilst at it, does anyone know where a fair priced hand pump for 200 litre drum can be purchased?

Many Thanks in advance.

Hi Gavin.

I've got a hand pump for a 44 gal drum but not sure if it will pump avgas. If it works make an offer. puff

I can get it to you this weekend.
