That is not my point. Not many of you reading this will be aware of the fact that Chuck Yeager (89 Yrs young) broke the sound barrier exactly 65 year earlier (1947) within the hour of Felix attemp! Co-incedence? What makes last Sunday even more unique is the fact that Chuck Yeager was taken up in a F-15 Eagle and broke the sound barrier again 65 years later within the hour of his 65 year old record and within the hour of Felix attempt!!! This happening at the same place as 65 years ago and 700 miles from were Felix landed!!! This is what I call COOL!!!!!

Bringing me to the point that connects us gyro pilots to the above. Not one of us has not asked himself / herself why am I doing this? The answer is we are all adrinaline junkies and if we were asked to do the above I think most of us would have considered. By flying a gyro at least our rotor tips reaches close to 1000 km/hr and that is the closes I or most of us will ever get to the sound barrier!!
