As ek hier bo lees - maak ek die volgende afleidings en voorspellings:

1. Lyk my Nicow is in beginsel in . So 'n Groen en 'n Geel Cobra vanaf Potties mag dalk daar arriveer;
2. Die Chain Gang praat groot en beplan allerhande dinge - ons sal maar sien wie kom daaruit;
Gaan jy join?

Ek is ernstig! :wink: Nee, regtig - ek is ernstig daaroor.. ##

:roll:

Dalk kom daar dan weer meer... :roll:

So - as die weer reg is is ek daar, en van daar af gaan ek vir my familie kuier op Standerton vir 'n week. Tumbleweed - kom se hallo op Beginsel!

Asterix, daar gebeer niks waarvan iemand moet bekommerd wees nie.

All good clean fun and the purpose is to welcome and bond the new guys and fragnated groups into one serious jol. Nobody feels iscolated and that encourages the spirit of flying together and the social participation.

I've endured several evenings and have not seen anyone too mif to fly the next day. Sneak away when you want and wake up at your leisure, enjoy a great breakfast and with the nicest weather and views you can find, you'll find new buddies to fly with the whole day and show you the best spots.

Asterix I have been to Numbi many times and let me tell you that nobody has ever been forced to do anything. You do not even have to go into the pub if you do not want to.

If you are referring to the "initiation" which is just a fun thing and normally preceeded by a shot of Stroh rum, it is not a big thing. You could choose your own poison/milk or choose not to participate. Trust me its not a big thing and its certainly not compulsive. Not a fight or flight situation vhpy vhpy. Besides I have seen you in action...........

Numbi has and always will be about the flying and mixing it up with other pilots.

Info on the weekend has not been too forthcomming and Rob is out of the country for the next two and a half weeks.

Willie from Hotel Numbi is sending me the accommodation special for the weekend which I will post on the site.

Yeah Asterix - not sure where you got your info from but there is no pressure for anyone to drink and certainly no one gets forced to do anything they dont want to. The general way it works is that okes arrive on the thursday... everyone lets their hair down and well... it has been known to get out of hand in a moer of a party kinda way.... There has been the odd barrell roll, the odd S**T paper hitting the fan, the odd hangover the next morning but nothing ominous.... (^^) (^^) (^^)

It is all about the flying and all about bonding with fellow pilots....

"En ek sal ongeskik en aggressief raak indien enige persoon my probeer maak. Ek is ernstig! Nee, regtig - ek is ernstig daaroor.. " Hey buddy... your a big boy, make your own decisions.... :wink: :wink: drink, dont drink, up to you...

That said i think the concern is not that okes are staying away because of "tradition" - the big concern - (speaking only for myself here) this year is that it doesnt fall on a long weekend... for me that is a problem and might preclude me from coming down.... lets see , in previous years its been the economy, the cost of the weekend, familiy commitments and other valid reasons okes have had... but not because its toooooo big a party :?: :?: :?: :?:

Glad nie kwaad nie ## ##

The "Africa Cup" or "Numbi" was one of the best experiences I had flying microlights(even if I did trailer down), I was merely making the statement that time is coming and going and the response for attending is shocking :shock:

I won't be trailering nor will I be driving there :arrow: I will be FLYING

Just to mention something about the "initiation" it's really not that big of a deal and for me it was great fun, sure there is drinking involved but hey water is also a drink ## ask me I had many "mampoer " drinking competitions were I managed to walk away to the surprise of my competerors :wink:

So rally the troops ,fuel the planes and get to NUMBI

As for the "Chain Gang"...we are 3 definites, weather permitting...still awaiting confirmation from the 4th Member...oh and TC....u r a member, like it or not. (^^) (^^)

Our plan is to fly through on the 26th of Septmber and leave again on the 30th....just so that everyone understands...the "Chain Gang" is doing this for 2 reasons and 2 reasons only. 1) To Fly... 2) To enjoy the comeraderie of like minded people.

That is that....and yes if there is "collateral damage" then so be it, it is not out of anyone's control....but I am sure a good time will be had by all...(And by saying "a good time" does not mean drinking)

Anyways....use it, dont use it....but fly (^^) (^^)
