SAAF/SAPS activity north of Magalieberg Northern Ridge

Postby John.com » Tue Aug 14, 2012 8:48 pm

Please exercise care if you are planning on flying north of the northern Magaliesberg ridge! ## ##

There is a lot of low level SAAF/SAPS helicopter activity (Pumas, etc.) due to the unrest on the platinum mines.

Guys be VERY careful!

After normal radio procedure I took of today at Aeroden only to almost fly directly into the flight path of one of these . . . . 500AGL and belting it! ## ##

Exercise caution north of the ridge!! The Marikana hotspot will probably be around for a while to come!

Make those radio calls more frequently than usual and keep your eyes peeled!!
