Re: AEROCLUB SA NON-DELIVERY

Good afternoon ladies & gents

After spending a couple of hours on the phone to Fundi yesterday, extracting records, filtering them with discrepancies & problems, sent the file to Kevin and the friendly ladies at AeroclubSA. They are hard at work processing the items that really need attention and will give me feedback on the progress. However, there is one serious issue that has become apparent from the data and that is that numerous members have ONLY paid the MISASA portion of R 330. These members will be contacted individually to resolve. Those they cannot sort out will be handed over to me to resolve...

Another situation that is still apparent that there countless members that have not renewed and want to leave it to the last moment before they reapply for their ATF. Chaps, the membership runs from January to December and that's it! Please... get it done. :)

Hazzard wrote:The reason for the lapse is given to be that they are seeking better value from the quoted cost of cover. This is a good thing but do you allow the membership to be exposed to the level of risk for the duration that this has been allowed to lapse? Please do have your say. The management are nothing short of being absolute gentlemen but we must have effective management because we really do need to bring all aviators together under the roof of one Aero Club - that is why this matter is important. Please do have your say.
Hi Donald.
I dont believe them. An absolutely lame excuse, for total ineficiency.

Vernon.

I agree Martin, I renewed my MISASA membership with a new ATF back in December, received my ATF and fully understand that you have to be a MISASA member to validate the licence. Now I wrongly assumed that the Aeroclub membership was renewed automatically. Now I get this bullshit. So now I can not fly as Aeroclub has not been renewed and most probably the rest of the forum as well has the same problem. Unless I am reading this incorrectly. I am seriously thinking of throwing in the towel with this sport as its a mountain of hard work in paperwork. Not fun anymore. May I suggest that we all inundate these people for performance and for legality reasons.

Have a wonderful day...

Paul

As the great James May (Captain Slow) would say...

..."Oh Cock"

It is clear this mess will take some time to sort out. I think the best we can all do in future, is to pay on time and print the confirmation of payment which can be folded and slipped into your little "orange boekie". Your flight is not illegal if you have that proof of payment on you, and can be presented at any time.

The way to do it would be to pay for everything when renewing our ATF. Thus Aeroclub, Misasa, SAPFA ect will all run for a year from ATF/payment date. Now it is just one bugger up with having to do payments at different times (**)

a Quick question: You do not have to be a member off Misasa, it can be Aeroclub and one other like SAPFA or SSSA, correct?

Aeroclub plus....

If you fly CCM,WCM,LSA - MISASA
If you fly gyros - SAGPA
If you do GLIDERS - SSSA
etc.

If you do all 3 - then you join all 3!

That is how I understood it; I am a member of Aeroclub and SAMAA (Radio Control Aviation), but thought let me be a member of MISASA as well seeing I do microlights. I have send MISASA an e-mail more than a week ago about logging into the MISASA website; no response. At least I get response from Aeroclub if I communicate with them.

That's just plain stupid, I am with Aeroclub and SAPFA as I fly a LSA (Bushbaby) now I am being forced to become part off MISASA as well which I don't want!!!

If you directed any e-mails or PM's to members of the committee directly - response would be quick - ask a question here - also quick!

John Boucher (JOHN BOUCHER) : MISASA COMMUNICATIONS
Alan Hussey (BUNDY) : MISASA PRO
Brett Hickman (NKWAZI) : MISASA TREASURER

Thanks for the reply John, but surely the MISASA website is where MISASA related things are discussed, not on Microlighters?
I have filled in the web form and I basically asked how to I get a login onto the website seeing that I am a member of MISASA? Can I suggest that the web queries are directed to your e-mail address?

MISASA is the ARO for your type aircraft Johan

It's sort of saying.... I'll be a member of SAMAA (model aircraft section) and still expect all the stuff the chaps in SAPFA do for their members - different applications and representation for different facets! Do you take part in air races and rallies - then you have to join SAPFA.

I belong to AercolubSA
I fly a Cheetah - hence I belong to MISASA
I nav in the PTAR - hence I belong to SAPFA too
