If you had to move to Limpopo..

Postby Asterix » Mon Mar 26, 2012 6:02 pm

, and you had the option, would you:

1. Move to Polokwane;

2. Move to Tzaneen.

Purely from a micro-aviation point of view - WHERE WOULD YOU MOVE?

I needs your helps... :| :|

You're single and rich. What wrong with you?

Book in permanently at the Magoebaskloof hotel for the best views in the province, shag the mid week loose ones inTzaneen, shag the Blou bull ondersteuner's girlfriends on the weekend at Pietersburg and go fly in Potties.

Tumbleweed you are a riot!

1. No, NOT rich - but very little expenses that does not revolve around ME, being wife-less and child-less and dog-less etc.

But come and give some solid input - those are blerrie high mountains on your way in a trike from Tzaneen to Polokwane. BUT - hangaring in Tzaneen - you are already east of the escarpment, and you can steam up and down the lowveld to Nelspruit all the time!

On the fly - away towards Polokwane / Potties / Nylstroom and beyond - take off, circle the field and climb to at least 8000 feet (from 1800ft) - then shoot across - IN ABSOLUTE CLEAR WEATHER.

Help people - it will be much nicer to live in Tzaneen than Polokwane - UNLESS my flying suffers! ## ##

Pietersburg is the best. Airfields are both on the edge of town. Tzaneen airfield is about 15/20 kms out of town and it gets hot and humid in summer there. Like Durbs without the sea. Below the mountain you also have problems with clouds on the mountain in the mornings in summer while Pietersburg is generally open clear skies more often than not. Just spent two weeks doing biodiversity surveys from the lowveld and spent most mornings waiting until 10:00/11:00 to get off the ground. Clouds and mountains do not work together so lekker when you are flying.

Hierdie kant van die berg is beter..
Verskeie redes.
Maklike besluit.!!! (!!)
Ek praat jou thaal...

Thanks guys! Specially to Stan and LDV. Points noted on the flying around Tzaneen. LDV - will a trike be welcome at the club? I promise not to piss of the blik aeries. (-)

Jakes - will come and visit! (^^)

And yes Oom Polla - maak meer sin - ek is nou lekker naby jou!! (^^)

Just got back from two days of regional meetings in Tzaneen and Polokwane - and from a business point of view it will also make more sense to live in Polokwane.

Now to start looking for new digs..

To the guys who suggested Louis Trichardt / Warmbad / Ntokozo - Dudes READ THE QUESTION: MY OPTIONS WERE:

1. Polokwane

2. Tzaneen.

Nou val julle hier uit met allerhande ander kak-storiekies!

Maar ek sal oorweeg om Ntokozo toe trek - TC moet net my cost to company match!  Dan kan ek ok ELKE dag vlieg! (^^) (^^) Hoe lykit Francois, het jy vir my 'n ou joppie daar by jou? (^^)Ek sallie GT was, die runway glad hou, my girlfriend bietjie vlieglesse gee in die Cobra, barman speel, krokke voer, ens ens.. Kom nou -wees 'n pel! ## ##

Thanks Leon! Once I heard that the "restructuring" at my company left me with choices - my hart was torn between work / flying. From a "work" perspective, this was great for me in the end. But as you will see from other posts by me, I have a deep sense of cameraderie with my buddies at Microland. I made friends there over the last few years for whom I would drop everything and rush to their rescue if they asked me to.

I hope I can fly Maya (ZU-DLP) into Polokwane, and find the same calibre of people there. My biggest fear is not related to work. My biggest fear is that I become an isolated trike pilot. I fly not only for the sake of flying, but also because I socialise with MY kind of people!! (^^) (^^)

Thanks! Look forward to meeting you guys! ##
