Hi guys
Apparently there's a post/summary somewhere that explains all the steps you have to go through to get a plain registered on your name incl. getting ICASA license, 3'rd party insurance etc. etc.
Can someone please point me to it
Much appreciated
Cheers
Ant

Re: Steps required to register a plane
Hi Ant,
I can't help you with the aircraft registration or insurance aspects but can assist in the ICASA radio licence procedures. Drop me a mail to pleonard@icasa dot org dot za and I'll forward you the application forms and payment information.
Regards,
Peter

Re: Steps required to register a plane
Hi Peter,
I sent an e-mail inquiry to ICASA for the forms to re-new my radio licence- expires this end March. No reply.
Could you please forward me to the link and advise the process with fees?
Can I pay for three years in advance and will it reflect on the licence?

Re: Steps required to register a plane
Peter's response was;
Please send me your e-mail address and I'll forward you a pro-forma renewal notice. The cost for one year is R120.00 and it is possible to renew the licence for up to 5 years on a sliding scale basis as follows:
1 year - R120.00; 2 years - R230.00; 3 years - R329.00; 4 years - R419.00 and 5 years - R501.00
Whatever amount you pay, if it is more than the minimum R120.00, it is advisable to email a copy of the payment receipt, together with a short note indicating how many years you wish the licence to be renewed for, to specrev@icasa.org.za It may also be a good idea to CC myself at pleonard@icasa.org.za so I can make sure the payment is credited to your account.
However, please be aware that there is no provision for a refund of any unused portion of the licence fee if, for example, you pay for 5 years and then sell or otherwise dispose of the aircraft after 2 years.
You can reply direct to my mail address as above.

Peter
