We're planning to take a gaggle of Gyro's on a tour of Namibia from Cape Town at the end of April.
We plan to clear customs and immigration at Cape Town international. Of course we don't have the duration to get to Oranjemund in one go. I have been told that technical stops for fuel before the border crossing is legal. Is this correct? Is it acceptable to sleep over and arrive at the Namibian border post (Oranjemund) the following day or is this pushing it?
a Flightplan is required to cross an international boundary so do we file it from Springbok to Oranjemund even though we cleared in Cape Town?
Any advice on paperwork required, tips on what not to do etc will be welcome from those of you who have done it already.
Thanks in advance
Len

Namibia Border Crossing - Advice please?
Hi Len,
Why don't you clear at Upington?
Enjoy a few cold ones with Eben.
I can't believe that your plan will be legal IMHO.
Protocols are very strict (even in Nam).
Regards
John
