I want a BIKE; I'll still get my PLANE...

Hi there Ladies and Gents;

Seeing as I cannot get my Plane just yet and seem to be spending alot of time with bikers and always have to ride pillion..... I would like to know if anyone out there can help me find a bike. It must be in good condition and at least a 600 or 650 something... By pay day I will have R6000 and that is all... I know it's not much but I do also know that the peeps with the right connections can find a bike in good condition for that kind of money... so... can anyone help me please?

I WILL get my PLANE - I know I will... as soon as I have the bike... the money is then going to be put away to get a Plane. I have a passion for both...

Linda, don't want to burst your bubble. For R 6 000 you are going to buy yourself a hobby, not a bike. You'll be a good mechanic, not a good biker, by the end of the year.

Put down a R 6 000 deposit, and buy something decent for about R 25 000 to R 30 000. I know the bussiness, and you can buy an average 125 for R 6 000. Just a thought.

P.S. I'll keep my eyes open, and keep you in mind if something comes up.

Thanks for the info... I'll see what's available if I take the R6k deposit and take it from there... I was told by a connection who builds up motor-bikes; fixes and repairs and then re-sells them that I could pick up an old 600 bike for around R5-R6k; so I just wanted to widen the range. He is looking out for one for me and thanks to you for keeping your eyes open for me... I do appreciate it.

I have to speak plainly here and say that this only gets you further from your goal of of owning your own plane! What can you realistically get for R6000 in term of a bike?

Go take down the details of some of the old trikes standing at ML and get in contact with the owners....may be an opportunity to buy into one of those trikes??

thanks - I hear you all... I will find out what's on offer at ML or anywhere else. I don't think R6k is going to get me much anyway in terms of a Plane; that's why I thought I'd follow the other passion "as well"... then as the year passes I'll be riding, hire and flying; and saving and by year end I could have R20k... still not much; but all I can manage.

Looking for a partner to buy a Plane.. it will help.

There are many trikes in many hangars gathering dust..about 4 in Crosswinds alone

I would say,get in contact with these guys,buy a share and fly the aeries,you would be doing them a favour as the engines would be working and not stiff and in need of a major when they want to fly again

Firstly thanks John for putting my photo up - "so blond with these things" - also everyone thanks... I think she's beautiful... I can't wait to ride her... definitely going to the Classic Bike Club on 4 March for breakfast... anyone want to ride with me?

PS: a while ago I bought a red helmet to ride pillion... now I have the red bike... on Saturday at Tedderfield I bought a blue Condor Helmet... so.... it's just a matter of short time and I'll have a blue Plane...

Oh Dish.... she is in good condition; she "runs very nice" were Alan's words, she's just not charging properly but he is fixing that problem for me.. and guess what... yip... you guessed it... she's costing me R6000....
