We should get a donation from the Bells supplier as well, they are making money out of this. :-)

I wanted to say give the man a Johnny Blue but firstly it sounds a little odd...... or gay, ...not sure... but secondly the payoff line forJohnny Walker is "KEEP WALKING" and thats not what is wanted here,.. what is needed is for everyone to stay around and "KEEP DONATING" ...... vhpy vhpy vhpy

Hi Bundy;

The R200 is for Ian anyway; but as mentioned I need a plane - so should I win her; then YAY.. so therefore please enter me for the draw if it takes place. I am about to go on-line to make the payment. As soon as done; I will e-mail the proof of payment to you.

I vote you raffle her; as was mentioned - have a fly-in breakfast - make a morning out of "the draw".... what was also mentioned was that Ian has another plane and was willing to sell/raffle the windlass anyway.... so I don't feel that whoever wins would be winning a plane on someone elses' misfortune... Ian obviously gave it alot of thought before putting it out there....

I will be in touch with you shortly Bundy....
thanks...

Safe Flying... vhpy

I can't believe that it's the same Ian I had such a nice flight with in September!
It's a pity that I can't afford it, otherwise I would've bought his trike to help out, but I can't even seem to get my own trike fixed.
I've made a donation, and hope for a speedy recovery :(

:?
The Idea of a raffle is to encourage people to give money in order to win something..
If you want people to buy into the raffle then do not discourage them with talk of handing it back..that is counter productive.!!
Nobody wants to feel guilty when he or she has won something.
If you want the raffle tickets to sell dont make us feel guilty about it.
It is also a sacrifice to buy a raffle ticket...and it must be treated as sutch.
As far as i am concern i hope Blue Eagle wins it...

Well folks the moment of truth has arrived - I visited Ian At home today - For the first time in two months he is positive again , he is looking forward to walk , yes you dont know what you have till you lose it , and The same with his hand , he can unfortunately not sign the paperwork yet , but im sure within a few weeks he will be back to normal again .
The doctaors and surgeons are satisfied with his progress , Now he not IanF anymaore , I thinks we should refer to him as metal man - Ja die man van staal , He is stapeled up , screwed and wired together , the exrays tell the whole picture , Id like to see him pass the scanner at OT airport .
There is some money short so the decision was taken to ........................................................

Ya some of you may be on the edge of your chair - The new owner is Nicow from Potties , Nico is a MISASA committee member , a instructor , a pilot and a friend , he put his money where his mouth is and made an offer the could not refuse .
so Sorry folks there will not be a draw the Windlass was sold to Nico for R36,000- 00 .
As promised I will do the Ap , , pay for the registration and paperwork and who knows Nico can fly his new Windlass back to Potties this weekend
Once again on behalf of Ian and the Family we thank all of you for your generous donations , and if anyone feels that they want their raffle ticket money back , please feel free to send me a mail and we will take care of that issue .

Its nice to know in these difficult times that the aviation industry still looks around and assits where needed ,
We thank you all Alex Rudd

I would like to pay upfront for my namesake to do a conversion to a trike he has on his license that I do not have. Would R400 suffice?

DarkHelmet hereby challenges all other pilots to book a convex, or even a check-ride, with Metal Man!

Let's those who have not put our money up yet use this as an opportunity to help Ian back on the horse! Those that have pledged a lottery ticket, convert it to flying time, do not ask your money back!

Leprechaun, please speak to him and find out if he is up for that?

No. Some months ago I was SEVERELY chastised when I put forth challenges to fellow pilots to contribute to the S&R thing "for when we need Santjie White."! I got SHAT upon! (Including you, DH - unfortunately I know see the relevant posts were conveniently removed??)

So please for the sake of consistency - don't challenge people to put down money. What was true then, is true now. Everybody contributes their own part in their own way. (Remember?)

We do not remove posts Asterix, you have PM - please get your facts correct - I do recall saying that we all contribute our own part in our own way, might not have been in the same thread.

Firstly I made it a sticky here - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16657&hilit=Santjie#p165367

I am trying to find my post you are referring to
