Search and Rescue communication equipment.

Now I think its time to tell all what we have achieved.

For the last 2 years we have made kit for the Mountain Club, partly sponsored by Vodacom. The system incorporates a two radio harness that fits on the operator. This may be linked to a central spider in the rescue helicopter allowing all the operators (10 of them) to talk to each other or individually on the intercom. When the operator leaves the helicopter they can use either a PMR (ambulance, 4x4 club etc.) radio or Airband radio or cell phone (only iphone at this stage). Now after a weeks final development with Rob Thomas. We can now link the entire Oryx ICS to the spider which allows the pilot to communicate with any member and also transmit on any of the operators radios as well as the existing Oryx kit.

In a rescue scenario that makes a heap of versatility for the entire team as they can all communicate in a heli environment. The headset is the same unit as used in a microlight environment that takes the full blast of the down wash. Electronics are different.

The system is named 4022 after the Agusta that went down with their mates on board.

The interface with the Oryx was the difficult bit..that was the final link in the chain.

Hopefully nobody on this forum will get to need it. The Mountain club will be at Tedderfield next February with rescue toys. They may be bringing their mates from the 4x4 club as well.

This means the same kit can now be used for counter poaching activities. No further development required.

Centrifugal force in pure Physics does not exist, however this does not apply to Taxi drivers..
