I might be interested. What dates would this be next year?

I am quite keen to make a trip out of this and help and support the guys and I am sure we can get at least six gyro's to go down there. Perhaps we should nominate Sutherland for our North / South meeting for that same period and then we can promote gyro flying amongst the bikers as well. I do think Mr Gyronaut will have to do some serious advance / mountain flying training amongst the gyronaughts before then.

I am in!
The person who says it can't be done should not interrupt the person doing it.

Re: Would any gyro pilots be interested?
Count me in. Sutherland is only 2 hours flying time from Cape Town. Its a regular stop for us on cross-countries.
Not a good venue for the North Meets South. The airfield is about 15km outside town and accommodation is ALWAYS a problem there. There is also ZERO infrastructure at the airfield. Nada, niks, f@kkol. - and man it gets cold there! (even in summer)
Its on the edge of the escarpment so no real big mountains to be concerned about but the weather can become quite extreme quite quickly, otherwise its a lot like the karoo all around.

Re: Would any gyro pilots be interested?
The Amageza bikers had their qualifiers for the Western Cape today.
30 riders took off from Morningstar on 180km of hardcore route through sand and gravel etc.
Nic (M24 ZU-RFP) flew a marshall as comms platform, Jean (M16 ZU-RDL) flew a stills photographer with go-pro's mounted and I flew the video cameraman (M24 ZU-RJR).
These guys are HARDCORE! There were many thrills and spills and hopefully some of the footage and photo's will be available soon.
All in all a great time was had by all and highly recommended fun. Will post info as it becomes available.

Of course your spot is reserved!
It was great day. Some good exposure for Gyro's among like-minded people.
