The very last straw!!
We all know that we are being *&^%$# by our local Rotax agent but I now had enough. I have place a order with them for 3 Sets (4 rubbers for 4 plug wires in a set) and received a quote of R101-85 which include courier fees to Pretoria. I thought it was a lot for 12 small pieces of small rubber but it was conveniently delivered to my doorstep. The courier portion of this amount was R35-00.
Guess what I received:

Hi Triker
They fit on your plug wires, on the coil side. They are there to prevent water and dust from entering.

Am I correct in that the spark plug boots cost you R5.57 each? If you'd ordered the NGK ones from Rotaxparts.net in the USA you'd have paid R29.65 each!

The NGK covers that you refer to, cost R137.35 at our local agent and like you say R29.65 in the USA AND they are also making a profit.

I don't see what you're ranting about.
What's the problem with R5.57 each? I think that's a fair price...........

I think we must speak to Rotax to get another dealership in South Africa to break the monopoly.

Direct conversion, that works out to R19.28, lets add 14% VAT and we get to R21.98. Lets add another R5.00 for freight, Round figures R27.00.psg wrote:I see skydrive here in the U/K Sells them for £1.65 each.
Now tell me, how do you justify a price of R137.35????
