UAC Open Day & Fly-in 2011

We are planning an open day at the Uitenhage Airfield on Saturday, 5 November 2011 to celebrate the relaunch of our club under the new name. We welcome all interested flying enthusiasts to join our vibrant group of aviators. We will also host a fly in for fellow aviators from other regions as well as various stalls for any aviation related activities who wish to partake.

You are hereby invited to join us over this weekend with a FREE stall to showcase your club or activity.

Venue: FAUH, Uitenhage

Activities: Flying Schedule

Friday 04 November 2011
All welcome to arrive Friday afternoon, for those who work half days.
Social evening from 18h00 until late, braai packs available.

Saturday 05 November 2011
Arrival of aircraft from 07h00 to 12h30.
Radio control flying from 08h30 until 10h00.
Sailplane flips available.
Poker Run Briefing at 13h00.
Poker Run of approx 65 NM start 14h00.
Social evening with live music, prize giving followed by T-bone or Rump Steaks with chips and salads for sale.

Sunday 06 November 2011
Breakfast and other activities.
Sailplane flips available.
Depart for home.

Non Flying Schedule
Various static displays eg Vintage cars, RC Aircraft, Aircraft builders and kit suppliers. Para- & Hang gliding etc etc.

Catering:
Basic catering will be available from Friday night through to Sunday. (Boerie rolls, Hamburgers, soft drinks, and limited alcohol in the evening)

Accommodation:
Various Bed & Breakfasts available in close proximity. Please see our website for a list of local B&Bs and their contact details (http://www.uac.org.za)
Camping: Camping will be available at the airfield, showers and bathrooms are available.

Transport: Limited transport will be available to the various B&B’s

Yes - it is still on. We dont have confirmed numbers yet, but early indications are at around 20 visitors so far - from L29s, RVs to Savanahs and trikes. The Whisper X will be making it's debut at our event too (most probably as a static at this stage)

Most will be camping at the airfield. So add the local club numbers - we definitely have enough for it to be a good party.
