Guys and girls
The explorer flew a couple of circuits today. We wanted to check the oil and water temps as well as stall climb and fuel burn.
She didn’t do too well on the fuel, we kept the VP to 85mph and she burned an estimated 18L ph. The test pilot weighs round 143kg`s and 400 ft per minute were managed at 70mph. Stall was uneventful no surprises here.
Speed, the VP is kept very fine- this engine will get the plane to Vne very very quickly. I`m starting to think that a P-prop is the ticket. The IVO is nice etc but not for me. I would prefer to have a middle prop and be done with it.
OK Subaru, temperature problems...yep I have them, my water runs too cool

seriously Im running 72degrees water and 110 oil. Oil is spot on but the water should be round 90. Ill have to close some of the radiator off.
The best for last, the engine sounds absolutely fantastic!!!!!!!
The motor has now done two hours and no problems
Well I hope to fly more next week and the maybe a pic or two
