Re: SANDKLOOF FLY IN
The weather was perfect, the scenery in the Cape at this time of year is beautiful, the location spectacular and the flying awesome. Fantastic runway and nice facilities at Sandkloof.
Thanks to Frik and Thinus for the invite and the coffee, rusks and boerie rolls!
My softness and I thoroughly enjoyed the little excursion and here are some photo's.

Re: SANDKLOOF FLY IN
AVIATIONS IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN THE WESTERN CAPE.
How can I make such a statement?
Easy………just look at the attendance we had at SANDKLOOF! Fifty four (54) planes registered with over 80 people attending, and the spirit these people brought with them…unbelievable!
Aircraft came from all directions. Robetson, Piketberg, Saldanha, Phesantekraal, Nooitgedacht, Grootfontein, Morningstar, Stellenbosch and several private strips (sorry if I missed someone).
Thanks to each and everyone that made this day so special. You can organize as much as you like, but the success depends on the attendance and the spirit that comes with it.
A special thanks to the way the pilots adhered to airmanship. At one stage the runway and circuit was busier than O.T. I recon a seasoned ATC would have been sitting with sweaty palms during the peak of arrival and yet it all went smooth, thanks to the way you guys handled it.
A very special thanks also to the owners Henry and Martin for letting us have the pleasure of sharing such a fantastic venue. Please thank your farm labourers on our behalf for their part in all the “behind the scene“ activities.
Thanks to Maggi, our own PRO, for all the admin arrangements that can make or break such an event . She also took it on her to be our welcoming committee that made all arrivals feel at home.
Thank you Barry for taking the aerial photos! Thanks to everyone that posted photos of the event. I promise to e-mail as much of the private photos to everyone that gave us their address, as soon as I link the ZU-Regs. with the addresses.
Cheers for now but watch this space. We will be doing it again.
