It is really necessary to have a database with contact info, specifically next of kin numbers. I propose that you send me all your info: Name, cell no, email address, next of kin plus cell no, and anything else you deem vital. I will compile and make it available only to 2 or 3 other pilots. I will let you know who these people are and give their cell nos. We will not send your info to 3rd parties or publish on this or any other website. We will then always be able to get hold of people in the event of an emergency. Please email this info to info@sagpa.co.za or PM me. Thanking you.

I was involved in the accident on Saturday and only had the contact details for the pilots home number on my phone as we have shared a hanger.

It was hell not being able to contact his wife for hours to tell het about her husband.

We can be in a situation where we require important info from her that could have a life.

Please forward your details, it will be handled with the utmost care and privacy.

Have sent my details including details of my on board tracking device in case I go missing in my gyro. More aircraft should have a tracking device fitted.

Hi FO Gyro - do you use 'Spider tracks' for the tracking device?

I use one called My Tracer. GPS position reporting via sim card every 15 seconds.Works pretty well.

Hello Everyone
Over the past few days I sent out an email with the spreadsheet template. If you did not receive it, it means that I do not have your email address/correct email address. Heaps came back as undeliverable. Please complete and submit via email. To quote a fellow pilot: safety is an attitude and needs participation. Thank you for the 59 responses I have had so far.

More than 200 entries with unconfirmed data. Some double email addresses or 2 cell numbers. Some of you have expressed their frustration at having to give info through for the third or fourth time but, please, what I have is not up to date. My own info on that database was 2 years old even though I have given them the new numbers! Two minutes of your time, please...And, please let your friends do the same as some people have no current email address or cell no listed. Thank you

Hello Everyone
I have posted an abridged version of the database (without ID no etc) on www.sagpa.co.za under the member section, confirmed and unconfirmed data. The full version is with Eric Torr, Gerrit Roux and Glen Dean for reference in an emergency. If you have not supplied your info to me yet, I urge you to please do. A few people are hesitant to supply numbers like ID and med aid but this is helpful info to have if we need to get you to hospital. I pray that we never have to make use of it, but we need to be prepared. Thank you for everyone that has already sent in theirs, and for your support for this database.
