So on Saturday we decide that it would be a good idea to go and join two of the Manne van Staal at some game lodge in the north. We get the co-ords and unleash four microlights in that direction. Unknown to us we were about to have one hell of special day and an unforgettable evening!
We land at an airstrip smooth enough to putt on and meet a tall fellow in sneaky looking hat waiting with a Land Rover to take us to breakfast! Then I realized this is in fact Ntokozo Lodge and the fellow in the sneaky looking hat is Tribal Croc! Wonderful I thought, like minded people! I could never begin to imagine how likeminded we all were! These peolpe can entertain and eat!
Before we could say "hungry" we were served with a massive breakfast and although the Manne (known for our eating ability) gave it our best we could not finish everything being brought from the kitchen! Being extremely full and now terribly lazy we were taken back to our chalets for an afternoon nap! Later we were treated to a smooth late afternoon flight and with the prospect of watching some rugby in a the newly built bar we headed back to the lodge! Once again, vehicles ready to go and serve our every need!
Upon entering the massive new pub and lapa with more than enough LCD screens to accommodate all the bulls supporters in the world we saw a little biltong and chips on the counter! This quickly changed into a lot of biltong, chilli bites, crackling, chips, pretzels and ice cold drinks! I have never in my life heard six men say all at once, PLEASE NO MORE BILTONG, when Yolandi yet again filled the bowls with snacks! No more snacks? Ok, she said and with a swoop Francois threw some Blesbok cheese grillers on the fire! We sat around the fire making jokes, talking aviation, drinking cold ones, eating blesbok steaks, cheese grillers and rump till we could not move! This was followed with a goods nights rest, yet another massive breakfast in the morning and a wonderful flight back to Springs.
I can honestly say that Francois, Yolandi and Ntokozo Lodge are now legends in the in the minds of the Manne van Staal! The only thing I did not like was the fact that we only spent one night there! This lodge has enough activities to keep you busy for a week! Swimming Pools, Pool tables, table tennis, archery, putt putt, quads, game drives and many more! I strongly recommend this lodge to anyone and can guarantee that you will have a wonderful time!
Thanks again Tribal Croc, It was awesome!
Now post some of those photos and remember, Martin was not there!
