Thanks Mcfly for another great fly-in as well as to the guys from Zwartkops. It was nice to see all the microlighters. Lucky for us we had a downwind flight back home. After landing we saw two trikes passing overhead in the direction of the dome. You guys came zooming past. Top ground speed 110mph so about a 5 minute flight for us. Thanks to all for a great day. Already looking forward to the next one. (^^)

Hi Piet,

I was one of those guys routing back to Klip, took me 1hr45 to get to swartkops and 45 min to get back (**)

Hell of a landing in 20km + winds...

Thanks Les for another great outing, all of you who want badges please let me have a name and Postal address that I can send to you, cost is R85 per badge!

Nice to see so many trikes in one place

Courtesy of 1-Time, we are safely back home in Mossel Bay!

On behalf of MISASA, thank you to all those that braved the cold (the frost lay thick...) and then later the imminent wind. I do believe today's conditions would have suited the fly-in more and also attracted larger numbers - but all in all a very successful morning.

Thank you to the OC - SWARTKOPS AFB for allowing this and all the arrangements it entailed. (^^)
Thank you to the guys & gals that made and served the lekker breakfast. (^^)

Then... thank you to Les McFly for arranging all this and making it possible and also presenting us a platform (figuratively) for the shooting of the TV program. (^^)

I was privileged to meet some of you chaps and even used Hendrik's very aptly registered Cheetah ZU-FKU for a insert.

Flo, Piet, Hendrik, Les, Gerrie, Alan, Brett, Alex, Roel.... aaag sommer almal - would have liked to meet others like Bundy but it seemed we missed some! Next time vhpy

I'll let you all know when the program gets aired on Top TV....

Les, I tried to find you to shake your hand. You are the MAN ! (^^) A huge thanks from the Brits pilots for organizing this event. We had a pleasant flight and a very good time.

And to the man of the day, ATC, you were impressive to say the least ! What an ATC !!! Cool, calm and collected. Give that man a BELLS ! (^^)

To all who made it by road or by air ! (^^)

Last but not least, to Avcom's Bacon v d Hoof. You were a well behaved pax. Sorry I did not have any heaters on board, but then, you have enough pork to keep you warm (**) .

Well done to all who could go. I was disappointed at first that I couldn't, but I think Alex's call was the right one. I doubt with my experience, I would have coped with the windy conditions upon return, especially given the 2 accidents he had to deal with the previous day. Glad others could make it though, and that it was such a success!
Thanks to Les for yet again arranging such a special fly in. I'm sure (I hope) there will be another that I can finally fly in to

D2O, you made a decision and stuck to it. WELL DONE.
The easterly did make it a bit busy lower down, and no need for low airtime pilots to go and scare themselves. Your chance will come to join such a fly-inn !

Hi Gents

I had the pleasure of handing over an amount of R1370.00 to the museum this morning.

Whilst I was there I bumped into 2Lt Tomlinson who was the ATC on Saturday. I congratulated him on his performance and relayed the complements from your postings since Saturday. He too, was VERY complementary toward the pilots who flew in to Zwartkop. He says that he started out with a chart of all the approaching aircraft which he subsequently threw out after the first wave and from then onward he took an OshKosh type approach which he Totally enjoyed. He expressed his admiration toward each and every pilot who listened and adhered to instructions, including the pilots (2 of you) who confused 02 with 20. The SAAF personnel, without exception, look at Microlighting through new eyes, as they have always perceived the Microlighters as being a bunch of rogue aviators with little regard for air law etc.

(^^) (^^) Well Done everyone. No incidents despite the changing wind and cold. (^^) (^^)
