Tedderfield

Postby jj le roux » Wed May 18, 2011 6:03 pm

Having done the first stage of my flying lesson at Fisantekraal thought I'd look around at airfields closer to home. Took a drive out to Tedderfield this afternoon only to get to a gate that I couldn't get into. Mmmm so how am I suppose to get in, if at all?

I live in Westdene so Tedderfield is about 30 odd K's away from me. Where is airfield in Brakpan? Would love to come see you guys? Thnx for the invite! I'm going back to CT to go solo so might need some guidance and a gyro to get to 30 hours this side(Gauteng) of the world. Won't you pm me your number so we can have a chat sometime?

Come on jj! Jy moet lekker wees!! Tedderfield is electric fenced in. The gate works with remotes. Each hangar owner has one. Why? We are security concious as we have plenty flying goodies in hangars that we would not like to be visited and explored by non pilots. You are more than welcome. We are just a phone call away to grant you enterance. Look at the Tedderfield website .

Jj, waars jou sin vir humor my vriend
With non pilots I am refering to the sizable squattercamp a few 100 meters from Tedderfield. Before security we had break inns , damage and theft on the property. If we leave the gates wide open for anyone to just drive in at leasure and explore, we are inviting the sort of thing that made us decide to fence in. All you need to do is ask someone to let you in. Please dont feel offended or unwelcome if you pitch up at my house unannounced and find my gate closed and electric fence on. Dont immediately take it for granted that we are are an unfriendly bunch.
Looking forward to your positive contribution to our sport. Good airmanship begins with a good attitude. You have all the info on Tedderfield on the website. Phone the guys and arrange for them to show you around. You are welcome. xxx
