Maybe some of us should leave on Monday. As far as I know, staying over an extra night
is possible.

Landing on Friday might be fun as well, gyro's coming in from all over the country. (^^)

It is the world record, we can do it (^^)
If you fail.... get up and try again. That is the only way to succeed!

I was expecting this one to come up sometimes. I was not concerned about it as I cannot go to Gariep. But it is unfair to let this event being spoiled unnecessarily.
When we went few years ago for a similar event, the refuelling was done by a generous soul but totally disorganised. At the back of a bakkie was one drum, say 200 litres. Every 4th gyro, he went to town to refill the drum and disappeared for one hour. It took the whole saturday afternoon to refill 20 odd gyros.
Similarly to this concern, bring now the situation to Kroonstad where there will be at least 30 gyros refuelling. It might be an opportunity to discover the night life in Bloem ! The return also will be interesting !
Flying is like dancing, it is a love affair between the pilot and his aircraft

You guys have got radios in your woer-woers? You are VFR pilots aren't you? Talk when necessary and keep a good lookout....

The more congested it becomes... the more you extend your circuit... Paul / Len... maybe a good thing to just give pointers on the joining procedures etc!

Thanks for all the input guys. Just to put you at ease. Arrival, joining and landing prosedures have been discussed even before the event was organised. Paul and Len have been working on this and each pilot will be e- mailed the prosedures to ensure a safe flow into Gariep. Obviously each pilot is responsible for his own safety but if good airmanship and dissipline prevails and is displayed by all it will be the "blast" that we all want it to be!
Vertical Tango, we have asked for each pilots fuel requirements and eta for Kroonstad to facilitate and organise a fast efficient fuel supply. Some of us have been doing formation flying all over the continent with the very first gyros in SA , many moons ago and we have learned a bit over the years and know all about one drum and 10 gyros in tow! We know that It can become frustrating .But its good that you think! You dont want to join us but at least you are thinking positively which means you are with us in spirit ! And that is good and counts. Thank you JP!
The long term weather now shows brilliant sun for Cape Town on the 20th (^^) All routes fine. Spot of drips at Gariep on Saturday but it is moving along as d day comes nearer. ##

Alldays - Gariep en Gariep - Alldays
12 landings, 1082 nm, +/- 450 liter Brandstof, 14 ure 11 min se vlieg. 4 Nagte se oorslaap.
