Gyro Wine Farmers Rally to Aid !

Cape Wine Farmers, who also fly Gyro's have answered the call and come to the assistance of a fellow Gyronaut in distress.

A wine auction in aid of Gareth Creedy, our injured comrade who is still recovering in hospital, will be held at the Gariep fly-in on Saturday night 21 May 2011.

So far Gyro Pilots/Vintners - Jonathan Mylrae of Eagles' Nest Constantia; Joep van Almenkerk of Almenkerk Wine Estate Elgin, Ian Corder of Elgin Valley Vineyards and Johan le Hanie of Vredevol Wines, Klawer have donated exclusive wines for auction for this worthy cause. We applaud their generous gestures!


The auctioneer will enlighten us as to the actual wines on sale on the evening for you to make your selection.

Of course you won't have adequate space to load your wines into your gyro's so they will be sent, via courier, to you afterwards - so don't let that put you off from bidding energetically on the evening.

Lets show that our "airmanship" extends beyond the runway.

WOW !!

The wine auction on Saturday night raised R16 640.00 !! Thanks very much to all the generous donors and buyers! Many thanks also to Grumpy for doing the auction and chasing the bidders up.

After the auction an anonymous donor came forward and offered to pay for the injured pilots wifes' accommodation until he is released from hospital !! This can easily cost R15k+ making the funds raised more than R30k

Well done to all involved, showing that true airmanship extends way beyond the cockpit.
