Hi Guys
Some trouble shooting ideas please. On way to Port Ellizabeth and back to East London today ,Air traffic noticed my Microair transponder was showing HUGE differences in altitude. Like 2000ft and then later 27000ft diferences on out going signal. Fitted in a Skyranger ,no problems before. Going one way strong headwind and coming back strong tailwind. Actual heights from 1500ft to 2000 ft on altimeter. Suggestions please
Regards Bryan

Check your static vent on the encoder

Turn it off...
Agree with Avgas. Check the vents on the encoder and also the connections. There may be a small leak esp if it was turbulent.
Also try testing it in calm conditions. if it is erratic it often a loose connection. if constant usually more expensive....
