Seems to me that "AGENT " has an alternative business plan in making money from the sale of aircraft , and that has nothing to do with his commission , "Non refundable deposit " .

OZGYRO , you have opened a can of worms here and the sooner we get to the bottom of this the better , as there is very good and honest guys out there delivering a service that not as sharks as "BOB"

Dont hold your breath buddy!

It really seems that no one has thought of a simple purchase process that is safe for both the Seller and the buyer?? I am shortly going to be in the market myself and after reading this thread, Im more nervous than ever!! Everybody tells you a different story? Surely it must be similar to say... buying a house? There is a process that gets followed when doing that so I dont see why buying a plane is any different.

How should us first time buyers go about it??? Please guys, some of you have been through this many times before... lets get a "Manual of Procedures" going for the purchase of an aircraft? It will get rid of Assholes like "Bob"!! ##

EDIT: JB, perhaps Misasa can do an article on this subject in the next Mag? Really seems to be a lot of confusion out there?

Alan,

Read Georges post. That seems the safest option.

If its a genuine mistake, then it's easily rectified by simple apology and manners, vhpy vhpy
if it's not a mistake and he's a 'chancer' send in the heavies. They sort okes like this out quick quick.. ## ##

Use of Escrow services (trust account like house deal) is common practice in USA but not here for some reason. I suppose if you go to attorney he can do something for you but that costs bucks. I still rekon best bet is the meet at CAA and sign papers and transfer cash option. 2nd best is sign purchase agreement and pay funds into attorney trust account. Details of the release of funds to the seller contained in the agreement so neither party has any clout after the fact.

Sound advice George and especially as you have had experience in this before.... (!!)

I also agree with what Grumps has to say... give the man a chance to defend himself (^^)

An article in the MISASA mag can be done but without any slander - purely a purchaser's guideline! I' have a look what I can do ....

I was thinking... why go to all the trouble of research for now... Eagle Aviation sells aircraft on this forum & on AVCOM.

Seeing that Nic Prinsloo (EAGLE) is in the game of selling, why not ask him to give us guidelines as to what the market prescribes and how to go about it....

Just a thought ... use it, lose it!
