Looking good. Incidentally I have removed the odd ding with the back of a spoon but heard (or rather potentially believed someone else's bullsh*t story) that on for example a leading edge ding you can use a CO2 fire extinhuisher (hopefully without suffocating) to cool the ding so that it contracts and then springs back into its original position.

Now that's the most original "fix it" tip I have ever heard - and it sounds plausible. The leading edge skin on my elevator picked up a crinkle when I trimmed it with the tin snips. I have tried everything to get rid of it with no luck. I was considering sliding it under the trailing edge skin (it's what the Homebuilt Help DVD shows) but the Zenith manual specifically states that the leading edge skin needs to go over the trailing edge skin. I will give the fire extinguisher idea a go before replacing the skin - thanks!

lol, at least I;m not the only one then. I am also finding out that if the assembly seems to be going together easily, ...... it's invariably the wrong way around

The fire extinguisher thing could be nonsense but for dents it sounds reasonable. I have a dent in my horizontal stabiliser which is fortunately covered by a fibreglass fairing...will still try to take it out as otherwise I will know that it is there!

As far as the 6061T6 extrusions is concerned, you may want to look at 6082T6 available from Metals Centre in Jhb.
Tel 011 493 4930. The spec is very similar to 6061T6. You may check this with Hullets SA. If you are looking for angle, you could get sheeting & bend it.
Aldek Ladders also uses 6061T6 extrusions for making ladders etc. 011 659 1317. Quite a few ladder sides doing duty
as wing struts.

To those who have been following my build, I will regretfully have to put the project on backburner as I make way in the workshop for a partially completed Zenith ch-801 kit that I will be completing. I am very excited about taking on the 801 build, as it is the bigger brother from the ch-750 I was busy with. The ch-801 is the four seater stol plane from Zenith Aircraft, and is only available in kit form. The 801 is the ideal plane for a group of friends to explore off the beaten track in our beautiful country. I will pick up on the ch-750 as soon as I have some space in the workshop again.

......I still need to find a supplier of extruded angle in 6061 -t6 or equivalent. PLEASE if anyone knows of a supplier, let me know......

If the thickness you're looking for is not too thick, there's 2 ways to go about it:
1) I cut strips from the sheeting and bend my own. I made my own bending brake to do this.
2) Speak to Eddie at Alclad (Lanseria). He'll supply the material and bend them for you.

Three more weeks on the four seater, and then I can return to my CH-750 project. It has been very helpfull to see the 750's big brother come together from kit. heres a few pics
