Icom IC-A3E

Hi Guys,

I have a problem with my Icom IC-A3E in that it won't power up from the battery pack but only from the auxillary 12v jack(on the side).
I have tested the battery pack on another radio and it works fine. So no power is getting from the battery pack to the radio as such.
Anyone you know of I can send this to to check out perhaps?

Dunesand, I have to be totally honest and advise the only fixes we are doing to ICA3 (22) radios now is fixing the sockets on the sides as they do come loose in service. The two sockets on the top which wear with usage we have made a boot for and have tooled for replacement knobs. These radios are now a minimum of 12 years old and spares are scarce. The UK uses them as they are about the only unit they can use legally. But here why bother ? You can buy a very good Vertex standard VXA220 from Cape Avionics and all the hassles just fall away. Sell that unit on Afors (UK site) and you will get good money for it that is if its an "E" series. A radio is a safety device and I dont think that this should be a compromise.

See the boot for the twin sockets. This fixes the wear on the small second pin caused by long cables of previous generation intercoms flapping in the wind. The pitch is set at 10,2 mm and is wider.
