Madagascar Paddle.

Postby vernon11 » Sun Jan 02, 2011 4:43 pm

I know its not aviation related, but you might remember I started the post Madagascar Paddle in july 2008. The book has been out a while now. Take my advise and read it. AROUND MADAGASCAR ON MY KAYAK. It is a great read.
Fly safe.

Re: Madagascar Paddle. Iceland Paddle

Riaan Iceland 022 (Small).jpg
Madagascar Paddle, now becomes Iceland Paddle.

Veronica and I recently visited Riaan in his refrigerator container (-20Deg). Believe me that is cold, although when we were in the container, it was only about -11Deg as the door had been opened to let us in.
On the news Last night, he was shown in the container preparing for his next epic journey. He will be flying out to the UK, and then on to Iceland, where he will start paddling around the Island unaided. he estimates the journey will take about four months.
His last book. Paddled around Madagascar in my Kayak, is a must read. The book is available at most book stores.
The previous two adventures, The filming was done by himself, so there is no real filmed documetry, but this time, he will have a film crew, to capture every detail.
As Riaan sends me info on the journey, I will post it.

Yeh Donovan.
Riaan and my son Troy grew up together. They are still best friends. When he flies over to the UK, he will be staying with Troy. Riaans Manager Brad was also from R/Bay. The three of them were in the same class. The School has never been the same since.
Cheers,
