The Feb issue has a lekker article in on helicopters and the usual gadget stuff, but more importantly it features a good couple of pages on the development of flying "cars".
I can visualize these latest innovations in the air within the next 6-7 years.
What I like even more about it is that it will be easier for us microlighters and gyro's to get into this development than what it would be for the average Cessna driver.
Also of interest is to see the USA government giving huge grants to these developments.
Would it not be nice to see our Government (through Dept. of Trade and Industry) supporting local aviation developments in their "job creation" drive ?
Imagine the Sling-, Zulu1-, Yenja-, and the likes receiving some government grant, support and export incentives !? Anyway ...
Get the latest PM magazine. It is a good read.

With our current pothole infestation, flying cars do sound great,
but what would happen if our "Taxi Industry" takes off......

These incentives do exist. A few hoops and hurdles to jump through - but one can get some funding from these bodies, even for operations the size of Sling etc.kloot piloot wrote:Would it not be nice to see our Government (through Dept. of Trade and Industry) supporting local aviation developments in their "job creation" drive ?

And even more if you're listed as an exporter and want to exhibit overseas.
