Shipping a trike from Durban to Cape Town

Postby gertcoetzee » Sun Feb 06, 2011 8:51 pm

I would like to ship a trike from Durban to Cape Town. The alternative is a long drive myself.

I got one quote, over R11000. (Grindrod)

Any other ideas?

Try Spoories
Maybe a long shot but internet express delivers all sorts of things for me. If you have a trailer maybe they can do something? www.internetexpress.co.za

Cor, thank you. I will contact you, but I see you are not in Durbs.

As for flying her down. Anyone offering? Or offering to accompany me?

Hi Gert,

I could go along as a co-pilot end of Feb or early March. I might not be able to leave work for long enough for the whole trip, but going to East London or PE might help as well. Maybe someone else could join you from there to Cape Town.

Is WUO a Windlass or an Aquilla wing?

Cheers,

V.

Thanks - if SoloWings get (my) the ducks in a row, I could get the refurbished WUO back by next week. I am looking into all options.

It is a Windlass.

Gert, if you are trailering down or similar I might have various aircraft bits (a prop and a few other bits and bobs) that could go along and i would contribute to costs (aslong as its less than shipping them alone)!!

Try phoning Jenya - 082 853 8239 - Aerossa the Topless wing man - he sends wings by courier locally and internationally. Also try Solo Wings - they have a new name but same phone numbers - they must ship trikes etc. Anyway I suggest getting the wing sent by established processes then you have a trike. At R10? per kg - air freight it - airport to airport.

Fly safe

The wing is not the problem. You can ship a wing between durban and cape town delivered at your house for R450.

Now the undercarriage is a total different ball game. Thats the problem.
