LOERIESFONTEIN FLYING FEVER

Postby WessieNC » Fri Jan 21, 2011 1:09 pm

Hi Microlighters. I am originally from Loeriesfontein, but is working in Cape Town for some years now. Since I was a little boy I was (and still is!!) always fascinated with flying. And as you might guess, the interest started with Boet Loubser when I was still very young.

I feel privileged to know Boet and had a long spin in his Explorer beauty (an hour and 20 mins!) this past December. The first spin was a hot and bumpy ride, and he said we must go again the next morning, early, when the sky is clean and cool. And boy, what a difference that was!A smooth flight from start to finish!! After takeoff, he handed me the stick, and the first thing I did wrong is to "choke" the poor stick. Needless to say, I was quickly pointed at my grip error by the legendary Boet! I also learned some great things from him about general flying and cant wait to learn more. Thanks Boet, and I cant wait to come down again and resume some lessons.

I am now saving my way up to own my own Bushbaby, (or Explorer!). I already find out while at his workshop, how much it more or less cost. He also showed me how the kit looks like with all those bolts and nuts and tons of other interesting and exciting looking stuff!

I am sure I will find enough courage and support in this forum to carry me through all the procedures in becoming a Microlight Pilot. (!!)

Here is a few pics we took while in the air, enjoy and a BIG THANKS to Boet!!! (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^)
Greetings,
Jaco (Aka Wessie)

JJJ, why do you not fit the spats to your plane? Too damn lazy or what? I can not fit spats to my plane, need to be able to step on the wheel in order to get in and out!, also nice place to sit on for a nice cuppa. vhpy
Wessie, been nice to take you for a flip. I can see you enjoyed it. It opens up a whole new world out there. Wellcome to the clan. vhpy

Wessie you should join our club now that you have been exported from Loeriesfontein to the Fairest. If you contact me Boet has my # and we can give you a flip in the Bosvark when I receive the papers.

Anybody who has ever driven through Loeriesfontein will know the place is aviation mad. Drive down the main street and all the old car dealerships are stuffed full of planes!

O, Ja, hulle is ook windpomp mal!

It is the Loeriesfontein version of a helicopter, recently when a real chopper has flown past Loeriesfontein someone called the police and said that "Iemand het met 1 van ons windpompe gefo...f, vang hom"
