I have some advice: Buy a Raptor.....

Brian Young from Pyramid fly that route often and will be able to tell us where to stop. Just one catch. If you fly OVER Swaziland you do not need a permit but if you LAND for fuel you will need a permit otherwise their air-force will shoot you down ##

Hey Guys,

I wish it could be longer, my company has financial year end at the end of june so from April to June ...leave is really difficult to tie down (**) (**) ,

Squeezing off a day or 2 mid June is great...but let me tell you 11 days would be awesome...but I cannot make it if we decide to go that route... ## ## Anyway I am only 1 of the bunch so majority wins right??? (**) (**)

Jaco, will you be flying from Aeroden on the 19th for the Sibaka/Ntokozo trip? If so I would like to know if we could fly together...

I'll be flying from my Home strip, just north of Brits :)

If there's one or two trikes flying from Aeroden, you can meet me @ my place, 7 min out from Aeroden, it's on your route to Ntokozo,
or if there's gonna be a whole bunch flying from Aeroden, i'll back-track and meet you there. (^^)

My place's at S 25 36' 29.06'', E 027 46' 06.53', 500m soft & smooth gravel, approach from the west (^^)

11 days is to long..Die ouens gaan fights optel sodra hulle aan mekaar se poep gewoond raak en mekaar naderhand dik bliksem. (**) (**)
And the other thing is that fewer okes will be able to join on a longer Fly-away.!!
Stick to 4 or 5 days.
(^^)
Ek hou baie van die Swaziland idee want dit bring regtig n bietjie adventure in die trip in.
As die army ons moeilikheid gee stuur ons Asterix met su gun vooruit.!!
Ek praat jou thaal...

Why not select about 2 destination points with fixed dates to allow various gaggles unrestricted routes, cruising speed and extended jaunts before and after?

It is usually what happens. We plan a route and fly and other pilots join in as and when they see fit.

It seems as if there is many reasons why NOT to do this route during April:
Too busy
Too long
Weather not good at the coast
etc...

So I think we will leave the dates as is and make the main event Friday and Saturday at Ezulweni (if available) staying over at Pyramid (or Numbi) on Thursday night.

Who flies from where and when is to be decided by the gaggle from that area. We will post our route and destination points from Microland after the planning at Sibaka so that the pilots who are interested can join us along the route or meet us there.

Asterix and myself will be flying during 21 April to 2 May but in the opposite direction vhpy . Please pm me if you want to join us.

Oukei. ## This trip is not going to happen as per Paul de Kock's (we must REALLY think of a forum name for you - this is hard and long to type) Spanner in the worx, because he has already thrown a new spanner in the worx for April - May -

So dates will probably be from June 16 to June 19. Four days. So begin nou al beplan om jou baas te vra, of as jy 'n baas is, om die staf in kennis te stel dat jy op 'n belangrike sake trip gaan.

As to the route - again - the B option waarop ek uitgebrei het somewhere hierbo is net 'n idee. If the Swaziland crossing thing looks problematic in terms of logistics - stuff it - there is probably no more to see on that specific leg than overgrazed country-side and third world gehuggies ##. Plus even though we go down the escarpment from Arnot to Barberton, we have to basically climb the same amount of altitude to clear Swaziland, this coupled with a very long leg, (fuel - burn ## (**) ), and the prospect of being attacked by third world types in the event of a landing, en hulle kannie jou taal praat nie, en hulle is BAIE HONGER en agressief... ^ ^ (I don't think my mod application for the installation of my 30mm Avenger Gatling gun will be through by then - apparantly there is some weight issues by the CAA, and one or two questions about national security...  )

Seriously though - we could also do the trip going south first and then up to Ezulwini and back. Might suit the timetable better. Bottomline, lets all give some input so that we can really PLAN at Ntokozo without squabbling about routes! (^^) xxx

True, true, but then again in this mad racing life that we all lead and where time is bought at a premium, it is all about choices isn't it? Some guys may want to go to Alldays, some guys may want to go down to the North coast. This is the beauty of it - both will be great flying events - it is all up to a personal choice! vhpy

I would also have preferred to attend both events but unfortunately I only have the 16 June weekend available to go down to the coast. I am sure the pilots attending the Alldays event will organize another trip down to the coast at a date that suits them better.
