Hangarage at Loskop Dam ??

Hi,

I will be camping at Loskop Dam for the period 23 Dec to 3 Jan and would like to find out if there is hangarage availible at or close to the dam and if so who I can contact. Info would be highly appreaciated.

There is a strip at loskop dam,..350m..check out the Airfield,Destinations page,there is a chat about it..no mention about hangars though.

Phone Anton, cell 082 565 0131. He is the voorsitter of Groblersdal Flying klub.
He will give you Louis van Schalkwyks sell no.who might be able to organise you hanger space for the duration of your holiday.( (I lost his number.)
Groblersdal is the closest by car and will be a lot more convenient for you to hanger.
By air I,m only about 5 min. further. But by car a whole lot more..
At Grobbies we will always make a plan to help you without charge.
You welcome to hanger on my farm, there is place for a trike. No charge.
Middelburg is also close..It is closer than Grobbies and also by car closer than Grobbies.
Your best bet is Middelburg.
Let me know when you are at Loskop, cause if you dont bring your trike I,m go-ing to make you green with yealousy.

The strip is still there..I was tempted to land there on more than one occasion. I can only guess If they catch you there you will have a lot to explain.. You will most probably be arrested on suspision of poatching. And I dont think anybody maintains the strip.???

Is this the strip at Loskop you refer to?

I had plasn to land there for a leg stretch when flying there and back from Aeroden this holiday

Is there nowhere to land at Loskop itself? Just to check fuel and stretch legs

Hi Big D,
You guy's visiting Loskop dam this holiday are welcome to fly to my farm for a vissit. See the co-ords on my avator.
The last time about a month ago,when I wanted to land on that strip at Loskop dam, on my Inspection approach I noticed a Landrover close to the runway and decided to abort.
If you go to the Destination forum you will see an entry " Loskopdam ML strip Info Required" dated July 2010.
There is handy info there and pictures..
JHJ, AKA Hannes has landed there twice during 2010. Give him a call at 082 410 2440.
I will make a plan to go there next weekend, either by car or trike and will let you know via the forum.
I dont think anybody from the Loskop Nature people wil know anything..
At the flying klub at Grobbies they told me a previous employer with a trike build the runway. That was in the good ald days before '94.

Die runway is daar en op die stadium sou ek se n ou moet n persoonlike inspeksie gaan doen..Niemand hou dit in stand nie en miershope en ystervarkgate mag dalk voorkom..
