How many hours are on the wing? the wing tuned fast or slow? I just had another look at the manual and it says that it is possible to tension the leading edge aswell as the spreader bar.

I have exactly the same wing, and had no issues. I am at Crosswinds. Give me a shout or fly through Saturday morning, we can compare and see what is different.

Hi guys.

I took a picture of the right hand side of the wing. In pic2, notice that in between the two battens, there seems to be a "slot" where something can be inserted. I am speculating, and might be wrong. Can anyone tell me whats the purpose of that opening.
Pic1 is a closer shot thereof.

Pic1 in the red circle is the area where I experience flutter. This occurs on both sides.
Wing has 240 hrs on and is about 10 years old.
The wing is situtated way in front at the hang point, but hands off cruizing is about 55-57 mph
regards

See if you can maybe see something here:

http://trike-wings.com/Spirit_Wing/Pict ... tures.html

PM me with your email address, so I can send you all the documentation I have on this wing.

I had some issues with my wing, making a noise when I go over the Maglies burg, when the wind started slapping me around like a bitch. I immediately took it off and took it to Jenea, where he inspected it for me, test flew it etc etc. All was fine. You can also take it directly to rainbow aircrafts at Springs airport, which will definately be able to advise you on this, been there a few times to but spares, they are always helpful ($$)

See attached. Almost looks like there is a batten missing.

Hi Willie
It does seem like there's a batten missing on either side. On close inspection, that insert is too small to accomodate a batten. If you look closely on pic1, you will see that the actual "sock" that houses the batten is not the same as the one on either side, indicating that there is not supposed to be a batten. Something smaller in size?

According to Rainbow Aircrafts, there are 3 different types of Spirit 15 wings
I must send them a photo with complete wing (from behind trike) so they can identify it.

Will let you guys know as soon as I hear something from them

Definitely looks like a factory job and the general design is different to mine aswell. Keep us posted but def looks like a missing batton.

Hi guys, sorry for the delay
I sent those pics to Rainbow but they still could'nt tell me what type of Spirit wing I've got. They recommended I fold up the wing and take it to them for further inspection. But interesting, one of our fellow aviators recommended I insert a small piece of arial wire (veer staal) in the "slot". And fantastically it worked 100%
The flutter is completely gone in that section.

Thanks Charlie Whiskey!
