Hi Guys
I need some information on Rhino Park
I am flying there (hopefully tomorrow )to get my trike serviced and just want to know if there are any special joining procedures or dangers that I must be aware of.
Thanks

Re: Rhino Park Information
Hi Tribal Croc,
join from the south. There is a tarred radio control strip to the north so stay away.Use runway 09/27.CAUTION be sure you use the correct runway.the main runway is under construction.I believe someone managed to land on the runway under construction.also beware of the powerlines and the pond on approach runway 27.there are also power lines and a ditch for stormwater(temperarily) on the approach for 09.be extra carefull for turbulance behind the eucaluptus trees.we have two windsocks in close proximity and they never read the same.try and conform to traffic or use your own discresion if no traffic.09 right hand circuit and 27 left hand circuit.Do not use the intersection turn off.Enjoy your flight.Andre and his new assistant Ian will give you the best service.

Re: Rhino Park Information
If using R/W 27, anticipate a little sink over the pond just shy of the threshold.

Where do you fly from?

Tribal Croc, welcome to Rhino

The runway under construction (09/27) is the runway to the north of the field. The current active runway (12/30) is the runway towards the south. I know some people call it 09/27 but that is NOT the magnetic heading and calling it 09/27 is downright dangerous, I am aware of more than one case where it caused a dangerous situation including one in the last week...... All circuits to the south (30L and 12R)
There are no power lines within at least 1700m of the threshold of 12 and miles away from 30. The approach to 30 is no longer over the pond but still expect sink.....
Exit the runway towards the north at the threshold of 30, be careful when you cross the runway under construction (09/27), taxi around the hangars that are towards the east to Andre's workshop in the large hangar next to the taxi way after turning behind the first row of hangars..
Now that you know where it is you must visit on a Saturday

Fly safe,
Rudi

ja I left at 5h45 and got to Rhino just before 7 (got a nice 20mph tailwind that pushed my gs to 80mph)

I heard a microlight on the radio but was to busy "rocking & rolling" to say hi.
Was flying at 6500 and was mutch nicer there
But the landing at Rhino lets leave it at interesting
