We had Santjie last year at FABS (Brits) for her presentation and it is a
must for each and every wife, pilot or family member. Her words to me were that she will travel to the Kalahari to do the presentation for 1 pilot only. Because one life saved through informed, quick and correct action is worth the effort of doing a presentation.
And her motto moved me a lot: "Roel, one saved life is worth my existince". Now that is motivation !
We so easily bitch about fees, CAA, RAASA etc. But the day you are bleeding out there, you will appreciate the sound of her rescue teams and calm control of the situation.
If for any reason Saturday's briefing does not materialize, let me know and I will arrange her again for us pilots north of the Magalies. Either at Aeroden, Aviators, Rosslyn or Brits, all of which have great venues to host Santjie's presentation.
