I got a very nice strobe light from Solo wings this week, cost around R50.00. Not to shabby.

Are they connected to the trikes power supply at all or does it run on its own little battery?

Have you got Solo Wing's number or is it similar to those that one can pick up at Midas?

You run them off the tryke's 12 volt supply.

You can phone Aden at 031- 7002806.
They do come in different colors as well.
I’m not sure what type you get at Midas, but give them a call.

Did I see R50-00????

The normal "aviation" strobe will set you back about R1000-00. I bought a strobe for my trike a while back from a electrical supplier and I think it cost about R350-00.

R50-00 is an excellent price!!
Do you know what the strength of the strobe and BPM (beats per minute)?? :?: :?:

Ditto, R50??? BPM and strength???

Having a strobe on makes you very visible, good when you flying in group to ensure you have visual of everyone and vice-a-versa...at R50 it should be mandotary if it does a good job.

Pictures???

Hang in there fellows, I'll post the specs soon as I get hold of it, in the meantime you can also phone Aden at 031 7002806.

Must say that you can obviously not compare it to a normal "aviation" strobe but for me it works.

I like to keep you all in suspense.

I unfortunately threw away the specks on the packaging but I'll try my best to get the specs again. In the meantime I'll take some pics and get Smiley to post it for us.

Quite nifty little strobe, it might even fit into the wing tips as well. :D

I found some more of the strobes at our local Midas, as loansharkblv
told us and after discount I paid R 25.00 each.

60 Bps, but others are faster. Wild guess About 3 Watt. :?

Still works for me at that price.

Looks good, but my only concern now is the fact that it does not give you a 360 flash :( :( . So if your not in the line of fire, you can't see the flash

It might be true, but watt a heck for that price you can fit them like a rope light all along your frame and look like Father Christmas came flying in.
