Thanks MISASA for your support of this forum!
I would like to tip my hat to MISASA! They have generously sponsored our forum with a R10,000 donation so we can cover some future (and past) expenses!
MISASA has always represented our interests as pilots, being a non-pilot for the past 2 years I have sort off turned a blind eye to the politics and goings on but I am getting back into the frontseat of a trike this weekend! Watch out for the Pink Lady at fly-ins and fly-aways!
MISASA's efforts have gone un-noticed, they really do a lot for us microlighters and I have ALWAYS taken their efforts for granted. While flying I was always a paid up member, some of you might disagree. Their donation is very encouraging and I (speaking as DarkHelmet, for myself, not microlighters.co.za) will be renewing my membership once my license is current again (hopefully in the next 2 weeks).
Had a meeting with Alan from MISASA tonight and we as Microlighters have an awesome body taking care of our interests! National championships are being held in Heidelberg soon...
MISASA has spent a kakhuis full of money on data loggers and these are available to us for regional use. The things are not cheap, how about we organise a regional competition on a rota for the loggers so we keep those torridly expensive things busy?
Western Cape Flying Club - what are you doing next weekend? Lets get those loggers down there and start logging!
Natal flyers! Are you up for some competition weekend after next? Data loggers and all!
You guys in Aliwal Noord? What are your plans the weekend after the sharkies had their turn?
If none of you are in I am sure I can rally the crew in Gauteng to come buy me drinks to be judge at Aeroden...
Kimberley folk? John?
These loggers are at our disposal and we can send em all over!

MISASA
Well done guys.
PS
I have had some practice driving these logger things. They take all the "BS" out of the results. you were there or you were not there on time nogal. Simple. Don;t need marshals, don't need crew. A competition can be arranged by literally 1 ouke and a couple loggers. Compo flying is huge fun and improves you flying ability. That said i have yet to get a result with one of thee so I assume I need more practise...
Happy to get involved in any Jhb based stuff.

Re: Thanks MISASA for your support of this forum!
PS - I have some MISASA welcome packs with some nice goodies in my boot!
The pack includes a serious pilot cap designed for pilots with the MISASA logo, no button on top so your headset does not burn your brain and other pilot specs so we can all look COOL together. Even the visor has been shortened and it is a full fit so you bald okes cannot get a sunburn!
Also included is a sticker for your ATF with dates (and other stuff I need to run to the car and tear one open), your medical and license renewal date! Alan, correct me if wrong but you also get an insert with loads of on/off badges and stuff you can stick to your switches, dials and no-step zones! ADD to that a Magazine!
Join MISASA and MISASA will send you this welcome package!
i have some "Welcome Packages" in my boot, have you a friend that wants to get into aviation? Nominate them here with their postal address, if you are sceptical about MISASA membership state so and reply with your postal addy so I can post you a welcome pack!

Hi,
The panel mount stickers are unfortunately now not available. The mag back issues are listed on the thread " Drinks with Morph." The idea behind the mag offer is simple - many new members have not seen the mag and do not know what it looks like. Also the postal service gobbles up many a mag. Post to some towns is worse that to others so it is possible that even some members have not got their mags. There are 4 issues - Xmas, Easter, Winter and Spring. Ok so why not date them - the reason being that I used to write stories in the old days - phone people and say - "what do you think of your story?" I now unfortunately do not have the time to write the balance of the mag needed to make up the pages and I gave notice to the AGM last year that the mag would be seasonal and would only be published when we got the content. So Xmas 2009 went out in January. Easter in April, Winter now and Spring is at the printers so you will get it by the end of the month - it will be on time - because you sent in stories - thank you - Winter is late as we battled for content. I still support this process as it needs to be your stories - it is a membership mag about the members and our concerns. I do not cover tragedies but we salute our friends in other ways as we did with the tribute DVD we issued some time ago.

Let me say that DH is a man with class that deserves all the credit that this forum can bestow.
I for one am on bended knee in admiration for as a lad that was born in Aliwal North to have it raised to crack a mention that places it on the map other than as the coldest spot on the TV weather report shows that he deserves to have his back scratched!

Fantastic ! This is good. Judging by the responses under post where magazines are being handed out, this might also be one of Misasa's best recruitment exercises !

I am prepared to donate a goodly amount of "panel mount stickers" etc to the mag if someone can sort out the logistics from bloem to wherever. Thanx to Dark Helmet and Misasa for a great setup.
