Radio Licence

Postby Alpha » Tue May 11, 2010 1:54 pm

Hi All,

I have had my Licence for a year now and I need to do a check flight some time. But with this I have been flying in uncontrolled airspace for this past year and even though I passed the radio exam I am not confident. I feel I need to run a course just for the radio licence. Is there someone that can help me with doing the radio course over? I also need to know who can help me witha check ride. I did my licence in Ballito, but I live in the Northern Cape and will be moving back to GP, Bonaero Park to be exact the end of this year and I need to get some controlled airspace practice ($$) Help please......

Once you are in GP, make friends :? :? with the locals, and fly with them while they do the radio work. It is always a winning way.

Get a copy of "What to say on the radio" from FLIGHTLINE. Excellent CD that you can listen while driving your car.

I agree with Wargames - Fly with locals to get the hang of the radio work.
You will possibly hanger at Petit, Springs or Microland.
At all of them you will have access to a Radio course at the flight schools.
Join the locals on a flight on a Saturday morning that will be your quickest tutor.

PM me once you're up here to join us on a flight or two at least.

In my expriance you learn very little on how to use a radio practicall during your radio course. i agree the best is to fly with your mates and let them help out on the radio if you get stuck. the radio cd is a very big help.
