Hi
i go to FAMN often from FAGM and for me best is
FAGM carolina badplaas barberton kaapmuiden and FAMN
Komati is a short hop from FAmn.
It is quite flat and boring upto carolina(unless you like the power stations and polution) but the remainder is intersting and enjoyable.
i use this route as there is always a road close or a airfield close . Also the weather in the Slowveld can be hectic so going this way leaves me some options if the weather closes.
Also i call the operators of the airfiellds on the way before i leave giving me a nice accurate weather report, all they do is look out the window and tell me what they see.
Any way FAKR are not to much of a problem only if there is IF traffic they make you wait , but so far i have not had any issues with them. Sorry except for the last time when they aked to to expedite, i was 10nm out and flying at 80% power 155 knots and was not prepared to gas it any futher, just stated my case and they agreed.
Enjoy the flight

If you want to avoid Kruger then go to Badplaas and hop over the mountain to Barberton then Kaapmuiden and route along N4 to Komati. Kruger is usually not a proplem, they will probably ask you to stay south of N4 and route 3500ft or below through the crocodile gorge.
