Thanks to the Springs Guys

Postby pietmeyer » Sun May 02, 2010 5:32 pm

On Saturday morning we were 3 trikes and a plane from Ingwe on our way to Heidelberg. As we got to Orlando Power station routing to RD, the weather closed up on us and we were forced to make it quickly to a place where we could land. Flying in the rain we landed at Springs airfield to be greeted by some friendly guys who all piled us in their cars and took us to a place where we could get some hot coffee and breakfast.

After some nice brakfast we went back to the airport so that we could fly back home in a slight drizzel but awesome flying weather. It was nice meeting all the guys from Springs. Thanks for the hospitallity. It was a real pleasure. We did not make to Heidelberg but still hade a great day of flying.

Glad you ended up safe Piet, I managed to get to about 10 miles from Heidelberg (from Rhino) but had to turn back and race the weather home ducking between storms cells and flying through some rain. While passing Springs I heard you asking about runway directions and the guys helping and offering something warm!

Well done to the Springs guys (^^) (^^)

Fly safe,
Rudi
