Membership - RAASA, Aeroclub...

Postby THI » Thu Mar 25, 2010 3:21 pm

I'm close on finishing my gyro license. Whoo-hoo!

If I understand correctly I must be a member of a couple of clubs...Raasa, Aeroclub, ect

Anyone can give a pointer with which club(s) I need to register?

Thanks!

I am only registered to have my aircraft inspected by AP for my ATF.

You don't need to register just to have a license. Do research on this, and if you feel they will add value to your flying, do register by all means. But it is not compulsary to have your license.

Hope this helps.

Hi THI.

RAASA is not a club. RAASA issues you your license and ATF.

It is not a requirement to be a member of Aeroclub or a section to have your license issued by RAASA.

IMHO
Only reason you are able to fly is because of AeroClub and they are only body representing GA (as a whole) in SA. Few like them or what they do but without them we would be in similar situation as rest of Efrica. (Tried flying in Kenya lately ## ## ## ## )

Transponders, radios, FL145 vs Fl195, 12 year O/H, WX feess etc etc....

Cheap and well worth it IMHO EVEN IF YOU DON'T (yet) own an aerie... (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^)
