You "OLD FARTS" have been around the block and there will allways be snide comments etc.
It is worth it if even one person takes your advice and saves himself R25K.

You converted me. So wind the neck in slightly. I am one of the "old farts" who have been doing it the "wrong" way for the last 16 years. I saw the value in what you posted and have changed my opinion. So yes it is worth it to impart the knowledge that you have as you may change someones mind. (^^) (^^)

Ja ek kan nie meer harloop nie, nou gooi ek maar klip. It is very disheartening to sit here and give good advice, only to be over-ridden with kak advice. I lost a very good and dear friend, because he listened to the wrong sort of advice, NOT given by me. Aeroplanes bites fools. ## ## ## ## ## ## ##

I have cleaned my airfilter in soap (sunlight liquid) and hot water. How critical is it that the filter be sprayed wth K&N filter oil and does one have to spray inside and outside of the filter? I was a real chop and put back the filter (after it was 100% dry). No problem to take it off again though.

Hi Glenn,

The K&N oil keeps makes the filter work the way it should. You can only spray the outside, so no need to take it off, just spray it.

My 2 cents, I don't know why everybody is fooling around with my way is this and that bloke is doing that, which is best attitude. Go and buy the filter oil, and you get a cleaner with it. Now why wouldn't you use that cleaner??

Listen to Boet. He only has your best interests at heart when he gives advice on the filters. You should too.

Thanks wargames, you give me hope for the future. At some stage I have seriously contemplated to just shut TFU, and let things be. I feel that I am actually wasting my time, sitting here typing away labiourously with my two middle fingers, giving advice that came through experience. But in the best interest of safety, I will keep on sending my 2c.

Have you seen these filters, also 52 mm diameter and used by the Deben street racing society and all, they also use Jamex filters (Dutch) which is becoming more common and I have seen BMC also Italian. Autostyle motor sport seem to be the agents.

http://www.kingdragon-filter.de/sportlu ... -1084.html I think that the price in Deben is much less that price quoted.

I have been using the filter oil which is yellow.
