THis morning at 6am there was no wind, clear skies. After a quick shower, out the door and guess what
MIST
It's incredible how fast it moves in on the coast. Anyway I took a chance and made my way to the airfield and miracles
:D
it was clear, although everything else was covered. So I spent 30 minutes climbing to 1500AGL and practised dead stick landings. Still was fun tho' :D

Hey Morph,
Looks like you are having this thread all to yourself !!!
During November and early December I did little flying - weather and stuff to do at home.
During my holiday I got to go in a Cherokee twice - testing my near non-existent 3-axis talents. Then I met Larry in Grahamstown and did a conversion on his Windlass (it has a beeeg wing) and did about an hour with him. Was great to fly in another area for the first time - new sights to see.
Cheers.

Put in 48 minutes this morning, There was a 10MPH NE blowing at the field and it was coolish. The sky was quite hazy and the air was smooth. Above 1500ft it became suddenly very hot, I am talking sauna
I estimate it was 30 to 35 deg, with a 35MPH northerly. Did a touch and Go at Altona (15 to 20MPH crosswind, nice practise), Fisantekraal, and Goedverwagcht. Landing at Morning Star was approached with apprehension and Stephan, who landed first told me to land deep. Came in on power and it was fine.
So it was actually a nice pleasant flight after all :D
