I have said nothing with reason, ignore the idjut. There are always going to be tyre kickers around. I find if I ignore them in real life they quickly go away. I believe you can point out weaknesses in a positive way so that others gain from the experience rathern than attack a product/person which has no possible positive benefit. I also agree with AndreB, RV4ker and all the other positive posts. [PS, its not John Boucher, he's not an idiot.]

Hi Xyster,

This forum is the result of one man's tireless efforts a few years ago to establish and grow the forum until it reached critical mass and became self-sustaining.

This forum is a nice place to visit where respect for each other is encouraged. This applies to the respective aircraft too as this entry-level flying of ours is very budget based.

Moderators or marketeers - you seem to have the two confused. :?

Thanks for the stats. The reality is Avcom's audience is far greater than ours which focuses on Microlights, LSA and Gyro's. They are focused on all PPL, Commercial, ATP, etc. You find a lot of microlighters are on both forums, which helps boost their numbers, but not vice versa, although they are always very welcome here. It's just how it is.

Also AVCOM have been around longer than Microlighters, and as such more members, longer time means more posts.

We are not here to compete with them, we cater for the different audiences. We are also not in a race to be the biggest. It costs a lot of money and time to run a forum, and we just don't have their budget. If the forum was just left open to post anything we would end up with 90% crap and 10% value. The purpose is to provide good, helpful information and it's up to the members to make the posts.

By the way, don't at any moment in time believe that we regularly delete posts and edit material. This is very rarely done, and only after consultation between the mods and admins and the poster himself, and it really has to be way out of line. We also rely on the members themself to self police. A member can complain about a post, which is how this particular thread was started, and the mods/admins will discuss before relevant action is taken. In this case, seeing as the comments were made on the open forum, the poster was invited to defend his statements. Other time the action might be different.

If you feel you need a forum that supports you posting irrelevant bullsh!t you are more than welcome to find one and join it. In the mean time you are welcome to remain here and add value.

I used to be hugely active on Avcom. Not so much now. Even though I do not fly a microlight or trike, I like the oukes here... I have met plenty lekka folks through here and we (well I do anyway) enjoy the hangar talk since I don't get any real hanagr talk anymore....

I used to organise a Avcom fly in 1ce a month. Was lekka, but now there are none and many of the old boys (who had plenty to offer) have gone silent.

I am a small town boy so I smaaaak microlighters just the way it is. (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^)

PS
If you want more topics. START THEM YOURSELF..... What you put in is what you get out..... ## ## ## ## Maybe ask youirself what you would do differently, if you were running it, then HEY DO IT, since the forum mebers dictate what goes on here.... ($$) ($$) ($$) ($$) ($$) ($$) ($$)

For the record the only topics I have deleted are the Viagra types which come every now and again (I would hate for you oukes to start moving in on my suppliers        ). Other than that most oukes tend to self moderate and there has never been a need. Moderators are just oukes who visit the forum regularly to assist. We (well me at least) are not the police. Most oukes here tend to play the ball and not the man, which works and we all have a good laugh, some banter or agree to disagree.... Lekka....

I agree with Len, Morpheus & George (Bark @ the Ants) & Andy (B4 I get implicated in something else!) Our Microlighters Matrix is unique in this that most of us are friends in some way or other or have socialised or socialise on a regular basis. It is true that a large percentage of us frequent both forums and have interests eg. PPL/CPL but by no means takes away the pleasure of being on Microlighters. A friendly warning to serious negativity stokers is quickly dealt with in an eloquent fashion as been demonstrated on this thread!

We don't bad mouth each others aircraft and downplay model types against each type, we rather compare our likes and dislikes objectively!

By the way... Morpheus - I wonder how many people actually know who the hell Armitage Shanks is.... Rumour has it a drunks was having a wee wee after a couple of beers and stood at the urinal (whish was just Armitage then :?: ) and said "SHANKS" old mate!
