Wanted- something to fly!!!

Postby whirly » Fri Dec 04, 2009 3:03 pm

Now that I have (hopefully!! :| ) secured hangar space at Mosselbay, the search is on for "something" to fly and here I have a wide scope and an open mind (well what's left of it anyway!! :P ).

So here is the deal:

It could either be a 1.) single engine aeroplane, (2) helicopter or (3) gyro.

1.) Single engine aeroplane:

Wide open : Cherokee 140/180/235, C152/172 (145 HP is OK)/177/Hawk XP,Rheims, Pitts S2A, Christen Eagle,Chipmunk, Citabria (prefer one with flaps),Titan Tornado II SS, Rans S6 (Nothing two stroke please!), .......................??

2.) Helicopter:

Alouette II, Hughes 269B or C, Bell 47 G3B1/2........................??

3.) Gyro

Sycamore with Rotax, Xenon...............??

What have you??

This machine will be kept at the coast and flown for fun only, and not very often.

I am a cash buyer.

But, as always, I am a bargain hunter.  Only contact me if you are serious about selling, are in trouble and in need of money, everything will be kept confidential, be assured of that. If you think your machine is worth R500 000, expect an offer of R300 000,etc.

This is a serious request so feel free to pm or e-mail me.

Seems you are looking for a toy. Why don't you go for a powered parachute from Buckeye. The closest you will ever come to real flying with the wind in your face. A very forgiving aircraft. This is a fairweather aircraft though. Have a look http://www.buckeyeaviation.com. Very safe and the absolute ideal toy. I can put you in contact with the guys that import them. I've had mine for over 3 years- what a pleasure. You don't need a hangar- on the trailer and in the safety of your garage. Cheap to maintain and operate.

Guys,

Read my first post again please! vhpy

Sorry guys, no trikes or powered paragliders.Nkwazi, I can remember giving a budget, if it's a bargain and something I want, I will pay for it.

I am going to narrow my search down to something that can run on mogas as well though.

Anything with a 912 rotax will run on mogas..
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

I agree with my friend, Flip. If you need a Quad Bike with wings, it should be a Bantam 6. (took me two years, flying everything I could lay my hands on, to decide). Very safe, powerfull, fun to fly, even in the worst of gusty crosswinds. All I am saying is: CHECK IT OUT. If U are stingking rich, buy a Chopper.

Hans,

I already have a turbine chopper (and no, I am not rich!) and the Bantam is starting to look like a possibility. The 6 might be an overkill at the coast though. vhpy

The 4 cylinder Bantam has plenty of voomah here at the coast in KZN. We have a few up in Cato Ridge at an elevation of 2500ft and they have bags of power.
