Site response time

Postby Jimbo » Mon Oct 26, 2009 1:06 pm

Is it just me, or is it taking longer to load pages these last few days? I thought so yesterday from home, and it seems slow today at office too.

yes, I am not having any logout problems at all

as far as performance goes it is way better than the first US based hostsite we used, no more database connection errors and obviously cheaper than the SA hosts.

I am happy

Very very slow loading of pages on opening. I estimate speed is down 70%.Navigating between pages just as slow.

Kind regards,

I have been Monitoring the website and i can say that it is Fine.
Well within limits that the University has in it's policies. ($$) ($$) ($$)
When it is slow it can be attributed to the International pipe being overloaded or should i say Under Pressure ## ##

The logging out problem is more often than not caused by transparent proxies that your provider operates. To test - you can force your browser to an alternate proxy and see if it solves your problem - one that I usually test with if ADSL user is cache.saix.net port 8080

To find that - in IE
Tools, Internet options, Connection tab, Lan Settings - Use proxy (add above address)

Ok, thanks guys!
My logout problem seems to be fixed! Site is faster for me as well. Weird... considering nothing needed to be done!
